One sure to be hot ticket for 2013 is the Take Me Home Tour 2013 by British boy band phenomenon One Direction.

One Direction was formed in 2010 thanks to the British incarnation of the hit television talent show The X Factor. Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson auditioned as solo performers for the show. During the callback round, they each failed to make it through to the next round of competition as individuals. However, guest judge Nicole Scherzinger suggested to fellow judge and show creator Simon Cowell that he bring the five guys together to form a group and compete in the “Groups” category of X Factor.

Simon, the mentor for the Groups category that season, took the advice of Nicole and formed the band, giving them two weeks to rehearse and get to know each other before the next round of competition began. They performed very well at the next round of competition and advanced week by week leading up to the final three. They became Cowell’s final act remaining in the competition. The band finished the competition in third place and shortly afterward were signed to SYCO Records, Simon Cowell’s record company, for a reported two million pound advance.
